Hello Everyone, I hope you had a pawsome weekend. Mine was really busy. On Saturday, my pawrents decided to take me on an outing to a dog friendly pub for brunch. I have never brunched before and I have to say it was fantastic. My Mum takes me on lots of walks, but we haven’t been to a restaurant before so this was a new experience for me.
I have been in my new home just over six weeks now. My foster Mum told my pawrents that it would take me about six weeks to fully settle in. My inexperienced pawrents thought I had settled in at about the two-week mark. I was getting there, but I wasn’t feeling completely secure yet. Now that I have been here six weeks, I know that I am here to stay and that my pawrents are not going to give me away. My confidence has suddenly grown. Both my pawrents have noticed a huge difference in me. Mum says I have been pushing my boundaries, but I don’t think that’s accurate. I just know they can’t get mad at me. I have this one look that I give them, and they both just melt.
One of the biggest issues I have had is with other dogs. If you watch my YouTube Channel, you will have noticed that I wear a bright orange collar that says “No Dogs”. The reason for this is, in the past, I have had dogs come running up to greet me. Because I cannot hear them, it really scares me. So, in the past I have acted a bit unpleasantly in response to this. I have been bitten in the past and it’s not that I am scared (I am really tough you know!), but I don’t want a repeat situation. When I see dogs, I adopt the mentality of the best defense in a good offense. For this reason, I have not really gone out in public with my pawrents and we have stuck to the gorgeous countryside where we live.
We decided to go to Rivo Lounge, which is a dog friendly pub/restaurant. It is a few towns over from where we live, but it is perfect for our family. Firstly they are dog friendly, secondly they are vegan friendly (my Mum is vegan) and last but not least, they make burgers (my dad loves burgers). When we arrived at Rivo Lounge, I got the deluxe treatment. A water bowl was immediately brought over. All the staff made their way over to come and meet me – I felt like I was Jay-Z. I met so many lovely people whilst there and really got spoilt rotten. There were a few other dogs around and I really surprised my pawrents by not reacting to them.
“Take me back to where the water flows freely and the girls are so friendly.”
After our brunch, which was amazing, we headed to the little nearby park. I met a rather unfriendly swan – I mean he put all my past behaviours to shame. He really hissed at me, or so my Dad told me. It’s a good thing I didn’t hear him. I had so much fun and actually felt safe enough to walk a little ahead of my Mum. I usually stick so close to her, so she was really happy to see how confident I have become.
It was such a good day, and I could see that my pawrents are going to be taking me on more adventures in the future. Luckily, we have a great resource for dog friendly establishments. If you are looking for somewhere awesome to take your pup, be sure to click on the picture below and you will find thousands of dog friendly places.
I hope you enjoyed my adventure as much as I did. If you would like to see more of what I am getting up to, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. I post one video every morning – not to worry, they aren’t very long. Thanks so much for reading and have a great week. Love and slobbery kisses xxx
